It is said that the IPL is a young man’s game. Well, Pravin Tamble is all set to prove it wrong. The Mumbai player will make his IPL debut for the Rajasthan Royals at the age of 42.

For the past five seasons, IPL has advertised its motto ‘Where Talent meets Opportunity’. If you have talent, IPL will provide you with the opportunity, even if you’re 42 years old! Just weeks after his maiden Mumbai call-up for the Vijay Hazare tournament, the veteran leg-spinner has been signed up by the Rajasthan Royals for the 6th edition of the IPL.

“He has been on the circuit for a long time and deserved a chance. He has been on our radar for the past couple of years, as we were looking for a leg-spinner. He was called for the trials a couple of times, and he impressed our skipper Rahul Dravid,” Raghu Iyer, CEO of Rajasthan Royals, confirmed that the signing took place last week.
