Satire: BCCI to launch their own version of Big Boss

Indian Premier League Auction 2010

N Srinivasan, the wily old fox, is trying to lure as many former international stars as possible.

BCCI have launched their own version of Big Boss for out of favour cricketers and have also decided to include former players who couldn’t live up to their promise at the international level.

The Big Boss house will include eight rooms and BCCI will soon have an auction to decide on their ownerships. Sreesanth, Sehwag and Gambhir have been announced as Icon occupants for some well-furnished rooms.

Initially, there was a plan to lock up the cricketers in the house till they make a comeback to the Indian team, but BCCI realized that some may not ever make a comeback, only to drop the idea later.

Former Indian players like Gaagan Khoda, Noel David, Abhijeet Kale – who themselves have forgotten that they once played for India – have made the cut to feature in this first edition of Big Boss.

BCCI spokesperson told our reporters, “This will be a great opportunity for the cricketers to become a household name again. Many film stars have shown their interest in buying the rooms and players. The profits generated from the show will be used to buy CSK players in the IPL auction next year.”

The bookies have already put their bets on Sreesanth to win, going by the history of the original Big Boss where the most controversial person has won the show.

Even Gambhir, famous for poking at balls outside the off-stump, is expected to create controversies by poking his nose at others affairs.

On the other hand, Sehwag has signed the agreement with a condition that he won’t be forced to do any physical work, especially where he has to use his legs.

While there was no surprise on who will host the show, with N. Srinivasan being chosen without opposition, there were also reports from BCCI sources that Gurunath Maiyappan is expected to make a guest appearance as the honorary member.

Also, Rahul Roy, winner of the original Big Boss has been approached as chief mentor.

BCCI gave the telecast rights of the show to Neo Sports, which covers 167 homes across India. After the show, they expect to cover 50 more. Neo Sports commentator Ravi Shastri said,” The atmosphere inside the Big Boss house will be electric. It will be a historic season and as of now all results are possible.”

BCCI told that the final confirmation of the show will be given after Arnab Goswami gives his verdict on the matter on the ‘News Hour’ tonight.
