Stats: Highest individual scores by Indians in List-A cricket

Stunning 176 by Mayank steals the show

Mayank Agarwal scored 176 playing for India A against South Africa A at Chennai on August 13, 2015 in the sixth match of the Triangular ‘A’ series played between ‘A’ teams of Australia, India and South Africa. It was his highest score in his short List-A career of 24 matches. His previous highest was 162 for Karnataka against Andhra at Secunderabad in 2014/15 Vijay Hazare Trophy.

176 by Mayank Agarwal’s is the 12th highest score by an Indian in List-A cricket. Achieving this in such a short career is a remarkable feat for Mayank Agarwal. And it is the fourth highest individual score by Indians in non-ODI List-A matches. His 176 is exactly the 15th score of 175 or more for Indian cricketers in List-A cricket. Out of the 15, 11 have come in ODIs and only four in non-ODIs.

The highest individual score by an Indian in List-A cricket is the famous 264 by Rohit Sharma for India against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on November 13, 2014. There are four more double centuries by Indians in List-A cricket. Three of those in ODIs – 200* by Sachin Tendulkar, 219 by Virender Sehwag and 209 by Rohit Sharma and one in non-ODI – 248 by Shikhar Dhawan.

Two years apart in the same period on August 12, 2013, Shikhar Dhawan smashed 248 for the India A against South Africa A at Pretoria in the Triangular ‘A’ series played between the same teams.

The first Indian to score 175 or more in List-A cricket was Kapil Dev who scored 175 for India against Zimbabwe at Tunbridge Wells in the 1983 World Cup. Interestingly, that was the first century for India in ODIs.
