Team India pays its tributes and prays for the Chennai flood victims

Floods have brought life to a standstill in Tamil Nadu

It is really hard to play and perform as a team representing your country, when some of your own brethren are fighting for survival against nature’s brute force. People in Chennai have shown immense courage, and have kept alive the spirit of being a human being, in the wake of the devastating floods that have shaken the very foundation of the country.

Two of the players in the current playing eleven- Ravichandran Ashwin and Murali Vijay, have Tamil Nadu as their native State, and despite everything happening there, have shown immense resolve to play for India in this match.

After the second day’s play of the 4th Test between India and South Africa at Delhi, the team paid its tributes to the people fighting hard, and helping each other, in the face of serious crisis.

While Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay asked people to stay brave and stay safe, Ravichandran Ashwin, who went into the Test match without knowing the whereabouts of his parents, thanked the people of the city for battling it out with immense humanity.

He also thanked some of his friends who came out on the roads, took to social media, and did everything possible to try and mete out the problems faced by the fellow citizens, despite themselves being stuck in the same situation.

This heartfelt gesture from Team India was truly an emotional one for all the people affected, as well as for their fellow citizens concerned about them.

Sachin Tendulkar also tweeted his support for those affected in the Chennai floods.
