TN Premier League franchise TUTI Patriots unveiled their team logo, anthem and a lot more at a glittering function in Chennai on Friday, August 12.
Resembling a pious wedding venue replete with flowers of all colours and fragrances, the Rajendra Hall at the wowing ITC Grand Chola was the place to be.
An afternoon which began with a solemn hymn ended with exhilarating music produced by some of the finest minds and voices in the country. Oh, and yes, there was Prabhudeva ‘Master’ too.
The gifted Arunraja Kamaraj, whose Neruppa Da of Kabali fame blew us away, has written and crooned another mind-blowing number titled Namma Payaluga for the Patriots ahead of the inaugural edition of the league starting on August 24.
Dinesh Karthik & Co. did justice to the anthem video by throwing in a perfect mix of attitude, (dance) footwork and dialogue delivery, leaving the brilliant filmmaker AL Vijay with 420 minutes of footage shot at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Composer GV Prakash occupies pride of place in the anthem video — moustache twirling and all that.
Even ‘Master’ approved of everyone’s dance moves. Lakshmipathy Balaji said, “Shooting for a song and dancing for it too is a new experience. The responsibility of being a senior makes me feel big.”
Karthik is look forward to the TN Premier League. “TNPL will be a great platform for the unheralded youngsters to perform. I am eager and anxious to play along with these emerging talents,” he said.
A word on the logo, and the management has made it a point to represent all that the districts of Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli stand for. The palm trees, pearls, soil, sea and Tricolour define the team.
