Korean GP: Kimi Raikkonen admits driver error for disappointing qualifying

Kimi Raikkonen has blamed himself for a poor qualifying session in Korea that leaves him down in ninth place on the grid. His teammate showed the potential of E21 by setting the fourth fastest time of the session.

Raikkonen also said that the since he had used a set of options in Q1, he had only one new set for the final part of qualifying.

“I have one new set of tyres, I made a mistake so I knew already in that point that the lap was gone but that’s how it goes,” Raikkonen told reports after qualifying.

The Finn, who finished in third place a fortnight ago in Singapore, wasn’t particularly happy with his car today but hopes it will be in a better shape in tomorrow’s race.

“I expect it to be a bit better,” Raikkonen said when asked about the balance of his car. “I was really struggling with the front end the whole weekend. Hopefully in the race it should be a bit more better.” he added.
