McLaren defends pit crew

The McLaren team insists that their pit stops are improving. The team’s drivers have been suffering from slow pit stops that cost them valuable time during the races this season. The last blunder was made in the European Grand Prix in Valencia where Lewis Hamilton’s second pit stop cost him a chance to challenge for victory as he dropped from third to sixth. However, the McLaren team stated that one of their pit stops in Valencia was the ‘fastest stationary pit stop in motor racing history’.

While fans expressed their anger about the failed pit stops through social media pages, the McLaren team defended its pit crew by stating that they had ‘the two fastest pit-lane times during Sunday’s race; a 19.36 sec for Hamilton and a 19.64 sec for Jenson Button, while their average stationary pit-stop time, discounting the one which arguably cost Hamilton the chance to fight for victory, was a sprightly 2.95 seconds’.
