Two Indonesian Premier Division clubs PSS Sleman and PSIS Semarang are seen in the video trying to lose the match by scoring own goals so that they could avoid an unwanted fixture. The match was played behind closed doors at the Stadion Maguwoharjo in Yogyakarta after violence had ruined a recent fixture in the Indonesian Soccer League.

The video reveals how both the teams were unwilling to compete the match as the winner of the match would in turn have had to face Pusamania Borneo FC – a team which is said to have links with the Indonesian mafia and is said to be the strongest – in the play-offs.

The players of both the teams were seen strolling around the ground and casually passing the ball among themselves, with the goalkeepers making no effort to stop the goal-bound attempts of their teammates. All the five goals scored were own goals and PSS finally won 3-2.

The match saw no goals till the 80th minute, after which news came in of PS Borneo coming second in their group. PSS Sleman then conceded two goals, but Semarang outdid them by making sure they conceded 3 goals, 2 of which came in injury time.

The Indonesian Premier League took immediate action by kicking both sides out of the play-offs and have threatened to relegate the pair.

"To enforce the law and keep the competition fair, PSS and PSIS have been disqualified,” Liga Indonesia chairman Hinca Panjaitan said after a hearing on Tuesday night.

"They harmed the basic principles of football, which is to maintain the fairness and integrity of the game. It was a conspiracy that violated the principles of sport. All players and team officials will be investigated further. If a club and its board are shown to be involved, there will be further sanctions. I do not rule out relegation.”
