India take on Bangladesh in their second match of the 2013 SAFF Championship – Group A at the Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu, Nepal today and if one looks at the history books, then India is clearly ahead.

Overall India and Bangladesh have met 29 times in international football matches since our neighbours independence in 1971 with India winning 17, Bangladesh winning five, and seven of the matches ending in a draw. In these 29 matches, India have scored 40 goals and Bangladesh 19 in total.

The biggest victory margin was a 3-0 for India, which the Blues achieved three times in their history against our neighbours.

The last match was played between India and Bangladesh at the 2010 South Asian Games in which Bangladesh beat India 1-0 in Dhaka.
