AC Milan News: Pato Wants To Stay For Life

AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato has pledged his allegiance to the Italian club and declared that he would ‘never leave the club’. He expressed his desire to become a club legend and win many more trophies at the San Siro following their Scudetto win this season.

Pato ready to stay at Milan for life

Pato stated his wish to emulate legends like Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta, Filipo Inzaghi and Andrea Pirlo and create a legacy at the club. He said that Milan’s League win was only the start of many more successes, and he wants to be a part of all of them. He plans to see out his contract till 2014 and beyond, depending on circumstances at that time. He said he wanted to remain at Milan ‘until they got tired of him’.

In an interview with Don Balon, he said-

“At Milan, we want to win everything. I want to become a pillar of this club and will never leave here,”

“I want to become a symbol of Milan’s history, becoming one of those players who left great memories and trophies. I have a contract until 2014 and I want to remain with Milan for as long as possible, at least until they get tired of me.”

“Now I want to continue to win because the league is just the beginning of a string of triumphs. Now we are waiting for Italian Super Cup, the Serie A and the Champions League and I want to win everything. I’d also like to play at the World Cup and will do everything to play the most important games.”

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has played a huge part in their stellar performance this season, and Pato gave him a glowing review. He said that the former Caligari manager had great character and determination, which translated into his winning the League in his debut season.

He said-

“With him there now, there is a great feeling. He has shown great character.”

“He’s a born winner and he showed that by coming to Milan and winning the Scudetto in his first season.”

Pato has been a hit ever since arriving from Internacional in 2007. He has put in many solid shifts in the second striker role, scoring 57 goals in 124 appearances. Allegri will be keen to hold on to the Brazilian starlet, who forms an important part of his Milan setup. And looking at his most recent comments, it seems like Pato isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
