AC Milan's Kaka denies salary till he regains complete fitness

Kaka adds to AC Milan’s injury woes

Kaka has refused to receive his salary from AC Milan until he completely recovers from the adductor injury he sustained during the the 2-2 draw against Torino on Saturday evening.

The 31-year-old joined the Rossoneri for a second term, after previously spending six years at San Siro from 2003 to 2009, from Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

The Brazilian international, who has been ruled out for the Champions League clash against Scottish champions Celtic set to take place this Wednesday, is expected to be back in action after a lay-off of about four weeks, for the match against Udinese on October 19.

In a video released on the club website, Kaka said: “You have probably read about my injury. Yesterday was a bad day for me because in all honesty I was not expecting an injury like this.

“I have spoken at length with the club, with Galliani and the doctors to decide on a few things and in the end I decided that I don’t want anything from Milan except love and support until I’m fully fit and ready to play.

“For this reason I have decided to suspend my current pay for this period of time, the only thing that I ask is the support and help to recover properly.

“I have already started my rehabilitation and I have to say your support and everything I have heard in the last couple of days really drives me on and makes me determined to come back as soon as possible.”
