Ajax manager Frank de Boer: Christian Eriksen departure will be an 'enormous loss'

Ajax manager and former Netherlands international Frank de Boer admits Ajax will deeply miss Christian Erisken if the youngster completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Ajax granted the 21-year-old permission to talk to Spurs regarding a transfer.

Eriksen’s impressive performances for Ajax and Denmark have led to interest in the attacker from numerous top European clubs but nothing has yet culminated in a move away from the Netherlands.

“His departure will be an enormous loss, Chris was very important for us,” de Boer told De Telegraaf

“We always have work in a good way. Players who are that good and also the ideal professional are, for a coach, the most ideal players.”

When quizzed on Eriksen’s chances of succeeding in England, de Boer stated: “It would surprise me if that [success] won’t happen.”
