Arsene Wenger: Not done in the transfer market

Arsene Wenger spoke out recently about Arsenal’s plans for the summer in a recent press conference.

The Gunners have so far been able to rope in Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy, but the gaffer insists that there is more to come.

“I’m very happy with what I could do until now,” Wenger said following Arsenal's pre-season opener at Boreham Wood, which they won 2-0. “It’s not over, we still have a long way to go.

“I can’t give you any names because you’re never sure that you can do what you want, but we’re still out there to strengthen our squad.”

However, when asked about Sami Khedira, Wenger refused comment anything on the specific situation. The German international has recently been linked with the Londoners.

However, a few days ago Khedira’s agent came out to the press to quash all rumours linking his clients with a move to London.

On being asked directly about the Real Madrid midfielder, Wenger said: “Look, I can’t give you any names.

“What is good is that [Arsenal's German internationals] won the World Cup so their confidence should be stronger.

“Winning makes you only stronger and more confident and hopefully we’ll benefit from that next season.”
