Bayer Leverkusen will be without defender Robert Hilbert for six weeks due to a shoulder injury, the German football club announced on Thursday. Leverkusen did not only suffer their third straight loss at Bundesliga's 24th round on Wednesday but lost Hilbert to a collarbone fracture, reports Xinhua.

The 31-year-old defender sustained the injury during the 1-4 loss to relegation-threatened Werder Bremen. Hilbert was unable to continue after a tackle with Santiago Garcia in the 72nd minute and was replaced by Benjamin Heinrichs.

As a consequence, "Leverkusen will be without Roberto Hilbert for presumably six weeks."

Hilbert joined Leverkusen from Turkish outfit Besiktas in July 2013 to score once in 50 appearances. Leverkusen sit in the seventh place in the standings. They clash with Augsburg at the 25th round in Bundesliga on Saturday.
