Cardiff City suspends their Head of Recruitment Iain Moody

Cardiff City v Newcastle United - Premier League

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan

Cardiff City had taken a firm decision of suspending their head of recruitment Lain Moody and have decided to appoint Alisher Apsalyamov , a friend of club owner Vincent Tan’s son.

The newly appointed 23-year-old Kazakhstani is believed to have no past experience of the job. This controversial move had not gone well with manager Malky Mackay.

Mackay held Moody in his highest regards and has credited his role in bringing in some of the best players in Cardiff during his successful two years spell at the club. Moody brought in the likes of Steven Caulker, Chilean Gary Medel, £8million Dane Andreas Cornelius and Fraizer Campbell. Mackay considered Moody as his most trusted lieutenant, having previously worked with him at Watford.

Cardiff City are currently placed at the 14th position in the Premier League table. They have secured 8 points from 7 matches. The newly promoted side had stunned league giants Manchester City earlier this season with a 3-2 victory.
