Queens Park Rangers v Stoke City - Premier League

Joey Barton has had enough of QPR and is firm on a move to Marseilles.

Barton wants Marseilles move

QPR’s suspended ex-captain Joey Barton has reiterated his desire for a move to French club Olympic Marseilles, after tweeting about his desire for such a move. He admitted he was hoping a deal would be done by this week.

Barton tweeted extensively about the proposed move saying other clubs were also interested in him but his mind was firm on Marseilles. He also claimed he was frustrated at QPR, after being stripped of his squad number and asked to train away from the first team.

Barton said “…. I don’t want to be disrespectful to QPR but enough is enough”. It would thus surprise no one if QPR washed their hands off the player at the earliest.

A.C Milan not interested in permanent Kaka deal

A.C Milan president Adriano Galliani has revealed that they are not interested in signing Kaka on a permanent deal, but want him only on loan.

In an interview with Sky Sports Italia, Galliani said that the deal depends on Real Madrid, who are keen to off-load the player on a permanent basis.

But Galliani admitted he was happy with his current set of midfielders and hence sees no reason for a permanent deal.

Earlier in the day, Galatasaray also ruled themselves out of the race to sign Kaka, with president Unal Aysal saying he was unnecessary for the team.

Kaka’s massive wages are a stumbling block for any potential deal, with the Brazilian reportedly earning around 10 million Euros a year.

Wenger not ruling out further Arsenal signings

Arsenal Wenger has refused to rule out new signings coming into the Arsenal squad before the transfer market closes this Friday.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Wenger said the club were still in the market, but hinted they were not looking at defensive midfielders after the sale of Alex Song to Barcelona. “…defensive midfielders we have” he said.

He also said a move would be dependent on the quality of the player and not on necessity, indicating he was happy with his current squad.

Berbatov set for United exit; French youngster coming in ?

Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov is reportedly on the brink of an exit as the Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that the club have reached an agreement with Fiorentina for a fee of 5 million Pounds.

The Bulgarian has long been an outcast at United and he could finally be on his way out, with only personal terms to be agreed upon, reportedly.

Meanwhile, despite Alex Ferguson’s claims that United’s spending spree is done for the summer, rumors continue to circulate about potential new signings.

The latest to be linked with the Red Devils is Saint Etienne youngster Kurt Zouma who, United fans will be happy to know, is a central defender.

United are facing a severe defensive crisis with Jonny Evans, Rio Ferdinand, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all out injured. It is no surprise thus that they are linked with the French starlet, who the Sun claims is the subject of a 9 million Pound move from United.

Manchester City, Chelsea, Juventus and QPR have also been linked with a move for the defender.
