Dilemma continues over Nehru Cup preparatory camp

Saikat

We have just three weeks left before the start of Nehru Cup 2012. The AIFF is muddling over where the preparatory camp for this mega should take place. Bangalore was on the cards but they have changed their decision and decided to hold it in New Delhi. This YES-NO from AIFF has been going on since the last 3 weeks. Right now the situation came into a position where the schedule for the preparatory camp might change.

It was decided earlier this week by the AIFF officials that the preparatory camp will held at New Delhi in Jaypee Greens, Atlantis club. But due to some reasons they shifted the camp to Bangalore’s SAI campus and some players have already reached the camp. But now AIFF officials are trying to exploit Jaypee Greens high class international facilities for the preparatory camp. That’s why they are now thinking of relocating this camp to New Delhi from Bangalore.

Meanwhile a new problem arose. The camp has already started from August 1, though not in full swing. But due to unusual heavy downpour and not a user friendly atmosphere at the Jaypee arena, the schedule is likely to be changed. If reports are to be believed, the preparatory camp will begin in full swing from the middle of August. It means that the team India will get a maximum of one week practice before the Nehru Cup, which begins from August 22 onwards.
