Feyenoord has dismissed reports that Lex Immers might be looking to move to the Premier League with Cardiff City.

The club that was recently promoted to the top flight has been surrounded with rumors about a possible move for the midfielder.

But the Eredivisie side has made it clear that they have no intention of allowing him to transfer this summer.

Cardiff manager Malky Mackay is working hard to find means to support his team after securing the boost from the Championship, but now it looks like he may have to take his business elsewhere.

Martin van Geel, who is Feyenoord’s technical director, said that they have not been approached by the Welsh club, and even if they were, they would reject the offer.

Voetbal International quoted van Geel as having said: “Lex Immers is not for sale. He is crucial to our way of playing. The same counts for Graziano Pelle.

“We want to keep these players and otherwise any negotiations will be hard. That is the advantage of long-term contracts instead of short or loan deals.”
