Gautam Gambhir: I want Germany to win the FIFA World Cup

Gautam Gambhir is backing Germany to win the FIFA World Cup

Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has stated that he is supporting Germany for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Gambhir recently led his club Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL title and he hopes that his favorite football team Germany can repeat the feat. Gambhir has said that he is a great fan of Mesut Ozil and Samy Khedira. Germany is certainly one of the pre-tournament favorites with their powerful team.

Gambhir said, “I have always been a Germany supporter in the World Cup. I like their resilience and their great defence. To me they are the bull dogs of world football who catch hold of their opposition and don't let them go. Also, I am a great fan of Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira.

I am also looking forward to seeing those magical skills of Cristiano Ronaldo. I want him to do well in the first game against Germans but I want my team to win the game. You can say I am biased.”

Gambhir recently made a comeback in to the national team after getting picked as the third opener for the Test series in England.
