Minerva Punjab signed their first Bhutanese player when Chencho signed on the dotted line at the beginning of the I-League season. Chencho has been highly instrumental in their season so far with crucial goals and the Punjab side are currently perched on the second spot in the Hero I-League standings.

What's next?

Minerva Punjab takes on Mohun Bagan on Wednesday in Kolkata as they continue to stay in the hunt for the I-League title.

Author's take

Chencho Gyeltshen's signing from Bhutan proved to be a boon for Minerva as the 'Bhutanese Cristiano Ronaldo', as he has been dubbed by Minerva fans continues to impress fans in the Hero I-League with his displays on the field. His countrymen Nima Wangadi and Jigme Tshering Dorji could also prove to be useful for the Punjab side if they decide to sign them after the trials.
