Zlatan Ibrahimvoic stats

Zlatan Ibrahimovic enjoyed his Wednesday night as he scored four goals to help his Paris Saint-Germain beat Anderlecht 5-0. The win saw the French Champions go to the top of the group after securing maximum points from their first three Champions League Group fixtures. The 32-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, with ten goals in his last five games for club and country.

And he could have had more than four on Wednesday night. Just 12 minutes in he rounded the keeper but could only find the side netting. The disappointment of missing that chance didn’t last long though, the Sweden international bagged his hat-trick before half time.

The first two goals came from Gregory van der Wiel crosses, including an instinctive back-heeled goal. The third was something special. With the ball bouncing around 30 yards away from goal, Zlatan connected wonderfully to find the top corner with an unstoppable strike. He completed his four goal haul 62 minutes in, thumping one in off the far post from a tight angle. The confident striker continued to impress football fans worldwide with his sublime finishing and addictive personality, on, and off the field.

Zlatan was awarded an incredible 159 Squawka Performance Score, comfortably winning the Man of the Match award. He was as accurate as ever with his shooting: scoring four, having four shots saved and striking just two off target. His link up play was also impressive. The forward made one key pass and completed 39 out of 50 attempted passes. Unusually for Zlatan, he attempted no headed duels during the whole game. However after scoring two so early on from low crosses, it’s no surprise that Paris Saint-Germain continued to keep the ball on the floor when attacking. The other goal in the game, scored byEdinson Cavani, was also netted following a ground pass across the box. As well as scoring four, he made a notable defensive contribution. He was successful with three out of three clearances and also made a tackle deep inside PSG’s half.

Zlatan has already doubled the three Champions League goals he managed in nine games last season for PSG, and we’ve only played three games this campaign. Despite playing in the Champions League with Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, and AC Milan, Zlatan has never managed more than five goals in a single season in the competition. With the French club almost certain to reach the last 16, Zlatan will be confident of finishing the tournament as top goalscorer.
