In today’s world, Medical and Engineering are not the only career options, as sports is also now getting all the limelight which can assure you a bright prospect for your future. Under School Sports Promotion Foundation (SSPF), more than 1,000 schools, 20,000 students and 1,500 matches have been played in Inter School Football and Cricket Tournament.

Now, it is heading for its Inter District Level in May 2016.

School Sports Promotion Foundation (SSPF) is committed to promote sports at grassroot level. In partnership with Sports Authority of India and supported by Ministry of Human Resource & Development, SSPF has taken the responsibility to search and nurture the talent from all the different states of India.

On the launch of SSPF, Sports Authority of India Director General Injeti Srinivas said, "SSPF is indeed a welcome step forward, through which we hope to identify potential sport stars of tomorrow at an early age.”

At SSPF, we believe that proper guidance and appropriate facilities can help a player become a true champion. We started our sporting journey in the end of 2015 and now this ambitious project has made its mark in just 5 months.

“For the purpose, a non-profit foundation, the School Sports Promotion Fund (SSPF), has been formed, which would organize sports tournaments across the country to identify talented players and give them exposure at the city, district, state, zonal and national level,” said Chetan Sharma, the former international cricketer who is also associated with this foundation as he chairman of council for cricket.

Here are the different stages of this program which are as follows:

Let’s start with the Inter School Tournament where every registered school participates. Our team of experienced sports officials spots the talent and selects them for field trials and selection. Next, the district team is formed and they play inter district tournament. The same format of trials and selections are followed to select the state team.

The third stage mainly involves choosing players for the National team. We always look for young and talented players who have the right amount of determination to make it big in the world of sports.

Chairman SSPF Om Pathak talked about his program in detail, "Most of our future champions are in schools today and it is here we need to pro-actively scout for talent, nourish and prepare them to participate and win and give India its due glory in sports as well.

“SSPF is aimed towards bridging the existing need gap through a structure d system wherein we hope to eventually reach each and every district in the country to unearth talent and empower them to realize their potential."

Many children dream to represent India in different sports but due to lack of facilities or proper guidance, they fail to meet their dreams, desires and goals. To overcome this drawback, SSPF took the initiative to find the players who are doing exceptionally well in cricket and football.

Moreover, we are also coming up with other sports in the next session. It is a kind of initiative in which any school kid can participate and fulfill his dream of being the best in particular sport.
