Juventus coach Antonio Conte refuses to comment on Nani

Juventus coach Antonio Conte was coy on a potential move for Manchester United winger Nani, preferring to defer questions on transfers to the club’s hierarchy when asked by Gazetta Dello Sport. The Italian side are one of a number of clubs linked to Nani, with Manchester United believed to be open to offers for the Portugal international as they look to rebuild their squad.

Nani signed a new five year deal in the summer, but has only started five of the club’s Premier League fixtures.

However Conte refused to be drawn on a move for the former Porto man, insisting;

“Nani? I’m the coach. For these things there are [director Beppe] Marotta and [sporting director Fabio] Paratici.”

Rumours also persist over the future of some of Conte’s own players. Paul Pogba has long been linked with a move away from Turin, with Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea rumoured to be chasing the former United youngster, and Andrea Pirlo is the latest of Conte’s men to be linked away. However Conte insisted that he is only concentrating on training, saying:

“These questions must be put to Marotta. I only think of training.”

“I’m proud of this group. In two years we have made important steps, but I’m sure that Juve won’t stop here. The aim is to win also on an international level.

“Now we have three aims for this season: scudetto, Coppa Italia and Europa League.”
