Kolo Toure: Teams know Liverpool can destroy them at Anfield

Kolo Toure has warned any club coming to Liverpool that ‘destruction’ awaits them and feels the fear factor of coming to Anfield is back.

Toure joined Liverpool in the summer on a free transfer from Manchester City and is hoping to become the first player to win the Premier League title with three different clubs having already won it with City and Arsenal.

Home form is key to Liverpool’s continued title challenge this season and Toure has hailed their form on home turf and put that turn around in fortunes down to manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Ivorian defender said, “Coming to Liverpool has been amazing for me. When I came here I saw a group of players who were really focused and concentrated.

“I think the manager has done so well. Since he came here, a lot of things have changed. Teams know that when we play at home, we can destroy them.

“At the beginning of the season, no-one was expecting us to be where we are now. We just need to enjoy it, give 100% and fight for each other to win games.

“If we work together, we can beat any team. This team has everything. We just need to keep our nerve. We are up there, but we know there are some hard games coming up.”

Kolo Toure has won an impressive 65% of his attempted tackles this season, while has completed 149 clearances for Liverpool.
