Barcelona’s Luis Suarez has often been subject to criticism for his hostile antics on the pitch, but the Uruguayan has proved from time to time that he is a good samaritan off the pitch after all.
Just a day before Christmas, Suarez has reportedly sent 500 baskets of gifts for children admitted at the Pereira Rossell hospital in Montevideo where he serves as the ambassador of a program for children diagnosed with cancer called the Scremini Pérez Foundation.
The baskets included food and gifts from the former Liverpool striker with a message included in each of them, that stated, “Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2015 with your loved ones. Luis Suarez and family."
Suarez, who now represents Spanish giants Barcelona in the La Liga, has always been adjudged as a violent player, having being accused of making racist remarks and biting opponents on the pitch.
