Man United's latest signing Ander Herrera labels Louis van Gaal world class manager

Manchester United confirm the signing of Ander Herrera

New Manchester United signing Ander Herrera has revealed that he is relishing the prospect of working alongside manager Louis van Gaal at “the biggest club in the world.”

The 24-year-old Herrera bought out his own contract with Athletic Bilbao to complete his Man United move, as is commonplace in Spanish football, paving the way for his move to Old Trafford.

Herrera has put pen to paper on a four year contract, concluding a lengthy transfer saga that dates backs to last summer, when the Red Devils failed to agree a deal for his services on deadline day, having to settle for the capture of Marouane Fellaini.

With United’s midfield contingent lacking guile and a goal scoring touch for the majority of last season, the creative Spaniard has been tipped to provide it.

He also represents Dutchman Van Gaal’s first signing as United boss, although the 62-year-old does not officially take the reins at the club until the conclusion of Netherlands World Cup campaign.

However, the midfielder has admitted that is looking forward to learning from the vastly experienced coach.

Two of Herrera’s countryman, Juan Mata and David de Gea have also explained to their new team mate that United remain of the biggest clubs in the world, despite their failure to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Although Herrera is not considered to be a marquee signing given his relatively low-key reputation, he is a signal of intent from United, with significant investment needed in their squad, he could be the first of many new arrivals this summer.
