Manchester United block loan requests for teenage striker James Wilson

Manchester United ensuring they block loan requests from James Wilson

Manchester United are blocking any loan requests for their teenage sensation James Wilson after he made a superb start to his professional career last season, according to the Daily Star.

Wilson, 18, scored twice on his professional debut for Manchester United against Hull City at the tail end of last season while Ryan Giggs was in charge of the first-team.

He has been a star in their academy for a number of years and finally earned his chance in Giggs’ final home game of a glittering career. Man United have received loan bids from Wigan and Burnley for Wilson but the club are waiting for Louis van Gaal to take a look at him later this summer before making a decision on any loan bids.

They have turned the bids down for now but that does not mean that the Dutchman, who signed a three-year deal with the Red Devils to replace David Moyes, will agree to sending Wilson on loan later this summer when he takes charge of the first-team following his work with the Netherlands at the World Cup in Brazil.

Giggs is his assistant after taking control of the first-team for the final four league games of last season and is known to be a big fan of Wilson, especially after his double-goal salvo against Hull.
