Borussia Dortmund have drawn a line under speculation that Marco Rues will leave the club this summer by insisting the diminutive play-maker is going nowhere, amid fresh reports that Barcelona are ready to swoop.

It emerged yesterday that Reus and the Spanish giants had agreed personal terms ahead of a big money move to the Nou Camp but Dortmund have quashed such rumours, remaining adamant that they’ve no intention in selling the midfielder.

Reus’ current contract runs until 2017 but there is a release clause included that would allow him to leave for €35 million next summer. The 25-year-old, who will miss the upcoming World Cup through injury, has been consistently linked with a move with Manchester United over the past twelve months.

Dortmund have been hampered by the departure of several of their front line stars in recent seasons and have already lost Robert Lewandowski from this year’s squad, who has followed Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich.

After a trophyless season, Barcelona are looking to add more fire-power to their ranks in an attempt to wrestle back the La Liga crown from Atletico Madrid, while Manchester United’s interest comes off the back of a season in which they slumped to seventh place in the Premier League.
