Marseille enters talks with Arsenal about Gervinho's loan deal

Marseille has entered into talks with Arsenal over a possible loan deal involving Gervinho.

Marseille has made it clear that it is their intention to add the talents of the Ivory Coast attacker to the club.

Gervinho, since his transfer to Lille in 2011, worth £10million, has made no bones about the fact that he was frustrated at the Emirates Stadium. So it is quite natural that he wants to move back to France.

Initially, even Lyon had shown interest in the 26-year-old player but Marseille have entered into negotiations with Arsenal for a season long deal involving Gervinho.

“This is a profile that interests us,” said assistant manager Franck Passi.

“We want wide players, with dribbling, passing and scoring ability, and Gervinho fits this profile.”

Even though Arsenal hasn’t particularly agreed to any contracts, the player is likely to exit the club during this year’s transfer window.
