Milan duo wish to stay at the club

AC Milan players Robinho and Kevin-Prince Boateng have expressed their desire to stay at the club despite being constantly linked with a move away this summer.

Brazilian international Robinho was also heavily linked with a move back to Brazil in the January transfer window, but the 29-year-old has now changed his mind and insists he would be happy to extend his current contract with the club. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Robinho said:

“I would like to sign a contract extension. I want to end the season on a high and will give my utmost in the remaining games. After that, we’ll talk about a renewal. I can assure you that the next six games will not be my last for Milan.”

Meanwhile, former Tottenham and Portsmouth midfielder K P Boateng also pledged his future to the club despite being linked with a move back to England. Boateng has been a transfer target for cash-rich Manchester City and Roberto Mancini is reportedly eager to see the Ghana international play alongside Yaya Toure in the midfield. And the 26-year-old knows that if City come up with a lucrative offer, the decision will be out of his hands. Speaking to SkySports, he said:

“I am happy in Milan at the moment. There is a great building starting here and to be honest I want to be part of it.

“Milan has their say in the transfer as well so lets wait and see.”
