Napoli: Manchester United Target Edinson Cavani Worth €100m

Cavani worth 100m

Napoli have slapped a €100m (£89 m) price tag on star striker Edinson Cavani. The Uruguay international is a target of several top European clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal, after an excellent campaign with the Serie A outfit.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis insists that the striker is worth every penny the club has priced him at. Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the president said,

“I should have my license as president of Napoli taken away if I sell Cavani unless it is for 100 million euros. He (Cavani) recently signed a contract extension and I have given him a good deal, which he merits.”

Cavani was instrumental in Napoli’s third-placed finish this season. The 24-year-old enjoyed a sensational maiden season at Napoli following his move from Palermo, scoring 26 goals in 35 games. The 24-year-old signed a one-year contract extension last month, tying him to the Naples outfit until June 2016. Napoli will play in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
