Barcelona lost their second game in a row as they slumped to a 3-1 defeat against Real Valladolid in their recently concluded La Liga fixture. Fans on Twitter were left bewildered by the La Liga 2022-23 champions' latest performance.

Barca got off to a poor at Estadio Jose Zorrilla as centre-back Andreas Christensen diverted the ball into his own net with a diving header in the second minute.

Valladolid striker Cyle Larin made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute. Gonzalo Plata scored the third via a simple tap-in, 73 minutes into the game.

Just like their 2-1 defeat against Real Sociedad, Robert Lewandowski scored a last-ditch consolation goal for the Catalan club. The Polish striker found the back of the net in the 84th minute, after being played through by a brilliant Frenkie de Jong pass.

The Spanish champions have lost their form since being crowned the La Liga champions. While the game was a dead rubber for them, Valladolid got a major boost in their fight against relegation with the win.

However, fans were unhappy with Barca's performance. They claimed that while losing is part of the game, it's unacceptable to play the way that Xavi's team did.

One Twitter user wrote:

"Embarassing football as always."

Another fan claimed:

"You can lose, but not this way, you're champions! Heads up and win the last two games."

Here are some of the best reactions from fans across Twitter:

What are Barcelona's remaining two fixtures?

Barcelona have two games remaining in their season after the latest loss against Real Valladolid. They will play RCD Mallorca next at the Spotify Camp Nou on May 28 before travelling to the Estadio Municipal de Balaídos on June 4 to face Celta Vigo.

Fans will hope that Xavi's side can recover from their recent skid and end the season on a high by performing well in those games. While the team have been exceptional in La Liga this season, the last two matches have been far from ideal.

Barcelona also have the luxury of giving young players more opportunities in the remaining fixtures, given that they already have the La Liga title in the bag. Xavi did so against Valladolid with 20-year-old Pablo Torre, who impressed during his stay on the pitch.
