Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has claimed that he would be fuming at Jurgen Klopp had he been in Mohamed Salah's shoes while discussing the altercation between the duo.

The little title hopes the Reds had left following their woeful form of late pretty much came to an end as they were 2-2 held to a disappointing draw against West Ham United on Saturday, April 27.

Jurgen Klopp's final season in charge at Anfield seemed like it could end in a quadruple win but they have been poor in recent weeks. With their title hopes pretty much over, Klopp's final season looks to be ending with just a League Cup triumph.

While Liverpool were dismal against West Ham United and could only salvage a draw, the game made headlines for an altercation between Klopp and Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian international did not start the game and when Klopp was preparing to make a triple substitution to bring him on, West Ham made the game 2-2.

While waiting on the touchline, Salah looked visibly frustrated and was seen exchanging heated words with Klopp. Fellow substitutes Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez had to get involved to ease tensions.

Peter Crouch has taken Salah's side and has insisted that the Egyptian has every reason to be angry with the manager. He said, as quoted by The Boot Room:

“It didn’t look good. I mean, listen, I can’t lip-read, I can’t say what exactly they are saying but it didn’t look good. I don’t think it looks good for the club. Listen, Mo Salah is a player who has started the majority of games for Liverpool, right. He will be fuming. I have been in that position. I would be fuming to be on the bench. I think players like that who expect to start are never happy. But no one expects to see this on the sidelines.”

Mohamed Salah has been Liverpool's talisman under Jurgen Klopp since his £34.3 million switch from Roma in 2017. The fleet-footed attacker has been one of the best players in world football during his time at Anfield, having scored 210 goals and provided 88 assists in 346 appearances to date.

However, the 31-year-old has not been at his best of late, scoring just twice in his last eight league games. With his deal at Anfield expiring in 2025, Salah has been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia.

Arne Slot interested in signing Dutch attacker at Liverpool: Reports

Arne Slot is reportedly interested in fellow Dutchman Crysencio Summerville should he take charge at Liverpool in the summer. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal season with Leeds United in the Championship this time out.

The Netherlands under-21 international has produced 20 goals and 10 assists in 45 games across all competitions. The youngster is capable of playing on either flank and is blessed with exceptional pace, vision, and technique.

Summerville came through the youth ranks of Slot's current side Feyenoord and moved to Leeds in 2020. He has developed quite well at Elland Road and looks ready for a move to a bigger club.
