Pundit Don Hutchison has advised Liverpool to go after a number of players to revitalize their frontline ahead of the arrival of Arne Slot. The Reds are set to enter a new era from the 2024-25 season, particularly regarding the departure of Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds were in pursuit of four trophies in what was meant to be Klopp's glorious farewell tour, but have suffered a dip in form since winning the Carabao Cup in February. They have since fallen behind their rivals in the league standings, and have been knocked out of the FA Cup and UEFA Europa League.

A huge contributor to the failings of Jurgen Klopp's side has been the loss of form of his attackers, particularly Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. Hutchison has spoken about possible solutions on BBC's Radio Five Live, naming three potential additions.

The pundit thinks that the Reds should look towards the Italian top-flight for a summer addition, name-dropping Chelsea target Victor Osimhen. He also named wingers Rafael Leao and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as potential signings to be considered.

He said:

“I think Liverpool have got a conundrum. Do they see him (Darwin Nunez) as a number 9 or do they need him as someone who is going to be brilliant off the left-hand side? I think at some point, depending on how much Liverpool have got in the summer to spend, there are players out there that can improve Liverpool.
"Rafa Leao at Milan is an unbelievable player, Kvaratskhelia at Napoli is the same, Osimhen I have always loved, so there are players out there. But that’s a lot of money. So it depends on how Liverpool actually see it and how they view the player."

Liverpool complete big-money move for Slot

Liverpool have made Arne Slot the most expensive Dutch manager ever after paying around €13-15 million to secure his signing, as per The Athletic. The Reds will have Slot assume the position of manager from the 2024-25 season.

Slot will be joined by his two assistants, Sipke Hulshoff and Ruben Peeters, at Anfield, but the length of their contract has yet to be revealed. The 45-year-old manager, who led Feyenoord to a league title and cup triumph in the last two seasons, was eager to take on the position once approached.

Tottenham came close to signing Slot in 2022-23 but a deal ultimately fell through, allowing him remain with Feyenoord for another season. He will now oversee the Reds' attempt to wrest the Premier League dominance from their rivals.
