After Brazil has been shown the door at the on-going World Cup, Neymar is rooting for arch-rivals Argentina to win the coveted trophy.

Brazil were subjected to a 7-1 demolition at the hands of Germany, in the first semi-final of the tournamanet at Belo Horizonte. The loss was Brazil's worst ever in 94 years, since their 6-0 Copa America loss to Uruguay way back in 1920.

Selecao star Neymar had to sit out of this match with an injury. The Barcelona man fractured his vertebrae during the quarter-final clash with Colombia. The injury ruled out the 22-year-old from the World Cup, and also raised concerns whether he would be able to play the sport in the future.

He was in tears during a press conference recently while recalling the injury that may have endangered his career. " I was blessed in that situation because it wasn't more serious. Two more centimetres up and, well, I could be in a wheelchair. So it is really difficult," said an emotional Neymar.

Brazilian fans were furious at their team's performance at the World Cup on home soil. But something they will dread even more is Argentina winning the World Cup at the Maracana in Brazil. The two nations are sworn enemies in football, and has a rivalry that dates back to ages.

But Neymar doesn't mind rooting for the Albicieste at the final. He has Barcelona team-mates Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano in the Argentina team, and wishes well for them. "I wish good luck to Germany but I want my two friends Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano to win it. Messi deserves to win this World Cup for all he has done for football," admitted Neymar.

Speaking on his Barca mate and friend Messi, he added, "He's won almost everything and I think he deserves to be champion and I am cheering for him to be champion. He is my team mate and my friend."

Argentina will play Germany at the World Cup final at the Maracana on Sunday, July 13. The clash is a repeat of the 1986 and 1990 finals, that featured the two nations.
