Odds slashed on Sir Alex Ferguson becoming next Ireland manager

Will Sir Alex Ferguson take up the coaching role again?

Rumours intensify as the odds are slashed on Sir Alex Ferguson replacing Giovanni Trapattoni as the Republic of Ireland manager.

Leon Blanche of Boylesports was quoted as saying by Independent, “We laid some large bets on Sir Alex Ferguson at 66/1 on Friday morning and the cut him into 33/1. The support continued to come and we were forced to cut him again, into 20/1.”

Mick McCarthy and Martin O’Neill are available at 7/2 and 4/5 respectively.

Noel King, the expedite manager in charge of Ireland for their upcoming fixtures against Germany and Kazakhstan, can be backed at 10/1 whereas former captain, Roy Keane is on offer at 18/1.
