Chelsea midfielder Oscar has moved to play down his on-pitch altercation with Brazil teammate Lucas, commenting on Instagram that everything is fine and that he has apologised to his international colleague.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas reacted angrily to an ugly scissor challenge by Oscar in the dying stages of Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge, but Oscar described the reaction as simply “a game moment.”

Oscar’s wild challenge came in the 94th minute of the clash and provoked a reaction that left both men lucky to avoid red cards. The Chelsea midfielder’s initial reckless challenge saw both feet leave the ground, before Lucas reacted by pushing his opponent to the ground.

However Oscar has now revealed that he has apologised to his international teammate, posting a message and accompanying picture on Instagram.

“Good morning guys, all is well between me and Lucas. It was simply a game moment. I’ve apologised, hes a great Friend Of mine And everything’s fine,” the Chelsea midfielder told his followers.
