Hello and welcome to the Premier League transfer news and rumours of the day! Here are the top stories of the night surrounding the Premier League!

Hazard has the personality

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has stated that Chelsea star Eden Hazard has what it takes to play for Real Madrid. The Blues star has been linked with a move for a long time now and the former Merengue manager is of the opinion that the Belgian has both the talent and the personality to play at a big club like Real Madrid.

"Eden's ambitions... playing at Chelsea his whole life or going out to a giant like Real Madrid?" he said.

"Let's talk about talent. Does he have the talent to play for Real Madrid? He does. Does he have the personality to wear a super heavy shirt and play in front of a crowd like the Bernabeu? He has personality, yes."

Rabiot to Liverpool

Barcelona have been linked with a move for Real Madrid. Some outlets in Spain also credit Real Madrid with an interest. However, according to former Liverpool star Danny Murphy, Rabiot could end up at Liverpool this summer.

Murphy praised the Frenchman’s ability as a footballer and thinks that he could be what the Reds have been missing ever since the departure of Philippe Coutinho and won’t be surprised if he joins Liverpool.

“Rabiot is a quality footballer who is technically very good,” Murphy said. "I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him in a Liverpool shirt next season.

“It’s potentially the one area that Liverpool are missing since [Philippe] Coutinho went to Barcelona and he is a very attractive proposition on a free transfer.”

Tottenham could sign Maxi Gomez

Tottenham are eying a move for Celta striker Maxi Gomez this summer. After not signing a single player for two windows straight, it seems as though the Lilywhites are planning ahead for the next window.

According to the reports, the Lilywhites see the striker as a backup to Harry Kane and are keen on bringing him to London.

Bale to leave for Kane

Karim Benzema might be having a great season but Real Madrid want someone who has more of a killer instinct than the Frenchman, who is more of a playmaker in the body of a forward.

And according to reports from Spain, Madrid think that they can sign Harry Kane if they send Gareth Bale back to Spurs in an operation that could cost up to €200 million.

More investment

Liverpool managing director Billy Hogan has claimed that the Reds’ board will continue to invest revenues earned to further develop the squad. The Merseyside outfit have already made some significant purchases last summer and it seems as though the trend is set to continue.

“Putting Jurgen and the guys on the football side in a position to compete at the highest levels, that is always our focus and we see our contribution to that in the form of being able to run the business in a better way and being able to drive revenues to invest back into the team,” he said.
