Real Madrid are not going to give up on acquiring Gareth Bale‘s services, revealed former Juventus and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane.

With there being continued deliberation on the impending move of Bale from Tottenham to Madrid, Zidane was keen to sign on the star as soon as possible. The nine-time European champions Real Madrid, have been relentless in their pursuit of Bale despite reluctance from Tottenham.

Assistant manager of Real Madrid, Zidane is especially in a rush to attain the signing after reports of interest from Manchester United as well.

“We’re not going to give up on Bale”, said Zidane. “It’s impossible to forget about a player of his quality. It’s only normal that Tottenham want him to sign a new contract but we’ve made it clear that he’s one of our main objectives.”

Earlier, reports had indicated an ambition on the part of Bale to make the transfer, and also suggested that matters might lead to bitterness if Tottenham kept refusing the transfer. There are also reports suggesting that Bale would meet chairman of Tottenham Daniel Levy later in the week if required and hand over a transfer appeal.

Spurs have indicated that they were willing to advance talks but were demanding €98 million and also Real defender Fabio Coentrao. The Portuguese player is valued at about €20 million, and so it would suggest that Madrid would have to pay close to €120 million for the acquisition of Bale in total.
