Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer apparently secured Amad Diallo’s services after a Facetime chat with the player, as per reports. The Ivorian was inches away from a loan move to Parma when the Red Devils entered the fray.

Manchester United convinced the teenager that he could fulfil his real potential at Old Trafford and managed to persuade him to make a €41m move to the Premier League on deadline day. The deal includes a €19m payment upfront and a further €21m in bonuses and add-ons.

Work permit related issues mean that Diallo will now stay at Atalanta and join up with his Manchester United teammates in January. Acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Solskjaer, during his chat with the Ivorian, expressed his belief that the player would have an immediate impact at Old Trafford. Manchester United, as such, will not be looking to send him out on loan.

According to Romano, Manchester United are convinced that Diallo is among the best teenage talents in the world of football. And Solskjaer apparently delivered that verdict directly to the player during their chat.

The Norwegian reportedly said that the Ivorian would need to acclimatise to life in England, but reiterated his belief that Diallo was ready for a move to Manchester United and that the player would flourish in the Premier League.

The Ivorian has one goal from three games for the Atalanta senior team but has been a massive hit for the youth side. Manchester United were tracking the youngster for over a year and believed that the time was right to snap him up this summer. Even though Diallo - who is occasionally referred to as Amad Traore - is only 18 years old, the Red Devils believe that he is talented enough to break into the first team.

Manchester United might have failed to secure their prime right-wing target Jadon Sancho in the summer, but in Diallo, they have a tremendous right-winger who could prove to be a bargain buy.

However, not everyone was impressed with the move, especially Parma, who were agonizingly close to getting Diallo on loan for the rest of the season. Club director Alessandro Lucarelli did not mince his words while speaking about the whole episode, but that perhaps is an indication of highly rated the youngster actually is.

Manchester United fans will be holding their breath until January and if the word around is to be believed, they will definitely be delighted by the arrival of the Ivorian.
