New Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has signaled his intent to stamp his own mark on the club by agreeing to listen to offers for last season’s top scorer Emmanuel Adebayor. The Mirror also report that the funds of the sale would help the club in their bid to target Romelu Lukaku.

Pochettino was hired from Southampton as a replacement for Tim Sherwood but the Daily Mirror report he is already looking to move on a player who was key under Sherwood.

Adebayor struggled to make an impact under Andre Villas-Boas but when Sherwood was installed as manager he found a new lease of life.

Despite only playing in 21 league games last season Adebayor still finished as his team’s top scorer with 11 goals in the Premier League.

Adebayor is on a considerable wage at White Hart Lane and his departure, combined with a potential sale of Roberto Soldado could be used to help Tottenham fund a move for Chelsea striker Lukaku.

At the moment it remains unclear what other players Pochettino is targeting as he looks to take Tottenham back into the Champions League at the first time of asking.
