Zinedine Zidane claims Ronaldo will win more Ballon d’Or trophies than Lionel Messi

Former Real Madrid player Zinedine Zidane has claimed that newly crowned Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, will end up with more Ballon d’Or trophies than Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Ronaldo, currently, has three such awards, while Messi is slightly ahead with four.

However, Zidane believes that if Ronaldo keeps doing what he is doing right now, he will finish ahead of the Argentinian.

The Frenchman said, “He'll win more Ballon d'Or trophies. What he's doing right now is out of this planet. If he keeps going as he is then he'll keep winning the trophy and he could even win more than Messi.”

Talking about his fellow countryman, Karim Benzema, Zidane was full of praise of the 27-year-old and believes he does what is right for the team.

He said, “He's another very important player. Sometimes there's debate about whether Real need to change the main striker, but that would be a mistake. He's not a player that'll score 60 goals a year like Cristiano, but with the qualities he has he works well with the rest of the players and always does what's right for the team. Very few players in the world can do that.”

He also lauded praise on Isco claiming the Spaniard is like him. “He's like me on a technical level. The fans love him, and he's having a great time just now,” Zidane said.
