Manchester United advancing talks to extend youngster's deal

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester United are advancing talks with Facundo Pellistri over a new deal. The Red Devils are ready to offer the Uruguayan youngster a deal until 2028.

Manchester United believe that Pellistri could be a star for the future but are planning to loan him out ahead of the next summer. On his YouTube channel, he said:

“Man United are in advanced talks to extend Facundo Pellistri’s contract until 2028. They want to give him a new long-term deal and then discuss in the summer over the potential loan move. United trust Pellistri for the future."

Pellistri has been a bit-part player for Erik ten Hag's Manchester United side this season, having produced one assist in 10 games.

Highly-rated youngster Amad Diallo, who enjoyed a solid season on loan with Sunderland this time out, plans to break into the Red Devils' first team. He said:

“Amad Diallo’s biggest dream is to get a chance in Man United’s first team. The idea of Erik ten Hag is to test Diallo in the pre-season tour after a successful loan spell at Sunderland."

Manchester United have been in touch with Diallo's representatives as well as per Romano as they view both him and Pellistri as stars for the future. He said:

“United will have discussions with Diallo’s representatives in the coming months over a new deal. They want to guarantee both players a long-term contract and be a part of the Man United project.”

Diallo has enjoyed a stunning loan season for Sunderland, bagging 14 goals and four assists in 42 appearances across competitions. He helped the Black Cats secure the sixth place but they eventually fell short in the playoffs losing 2-3 to Luton Town in the semi-final.

Manchester United star David de Gea's message after winning Golden Glove

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea claimed that he is proud of himself and his team after winning the Premier League's Golden Glove award.

The Spaniard registered his 17th clean sheet of the Premier League 2022-23 campaign as the Red Devils saw Bournemouth 1-0 away on May 20. He has three more clean sheets than the next best - Alisson Becker of Liverpool.

Speaking to MUTV after the win, De Gea said (via Manchester Evening News):

"It means myself and the team did really well. Especially in the defensive side, we have been very solid the whole season and I think we played really good the whole season. I've helped the team as much as I can, keeping some good clean sheets and you know when you keep clean sheets, we are closer to winning games and today, we keep another one, a big one and a massive three points."

De Gea's has come under severe scrutiny this season. The Spaniard has made several costly errors while his lack of ability with the ball has also been highlighted.

He has his contract expiring at Old Trafford expires this summer but is expected to sign a new deal ahead of the next season.
