Rumour: Arsenal plot audacious bid to land Polish goal machine Robert Lewandowski

Reports suggest that Arsenal are planning an audacious bid of £16.75 million to land Polish international Robert Lewandowski this January transfer window.

The striker has been subject of much speculation as his current contract at Borussia Dortmund expires next summer. A host of clubs have been linked with the prolific goal scorer including German giants Bayern Munich and Spanish outfit Real Madrid.

However, in a bid to sign a much needed target man, Arsene Wenger will hope to lure the forward to the Emirates against all odds in the winter. Lewandowski has already scored 17 goals in 31 appearances for club and country this season, and has proven his worth over the last two years.

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger might be in with a chance as Borussia Dortmund will be reluctant to let their star go to fierce rivals Bayern Munich.
