Liverpool are reportedly looking to sign Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back William Pacho this summer. The 22-year-old is set to be one of the first signings in the post-Jurgen Klopp era.

Pacho has been a solid performer for the Bundesliga side this season, providing two assists in 43 games across competitions, starting every time, helping keep 11 clean sheets. Both goal contributions have come in 32 games in the league, where Frankfurt are sixth with a game to go.

Despite contracted with the Bundesliga side till 2028, Pacho has been the subject of interest of many clubs. As reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on The Debrief (as per TBR), the Ecuadorean could land at Anfield this summer:

“The priority for Liverpool is a centre-back, and I think Liverpool will be really busy with that. A player they appreciate is Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt. A very good centre-back, left-footed, it’s not easy to find left-footed centre-backs on the market, so Pacho is a candidate for sure for Liverpool."

With Virgil van Dijk not getting any younger, the Reds are looking for a young centre-back who could feature at the heart of their defence for a while, and Pacho seems to fit the bill.

Liverpool are on course to end their final season under Jurgen Klopp in a whimper. After winning the EFL Cup in January, the Reds were on course for an unprecedented quadruple, but they got knocked out of two cup competitions.

Following a 4-3 extra-time defeat at Manchester United in the FA Cup quarterfinal, the Reds lost 3-1 on aggregate in the UEFA Europa League last-eight. Klopp's side then ran out of steam in what was turning out to be a three-horse Premier League title race.

After a 3-3 draw at Aston Villa, the Reds close their league season at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday (May 19), which will also be Klopp's final game in charge at Anfield.
