According to various reports, Steven Gerrard’s season is going to end early. The Liverpool legend will be undergoing shoulder surgery now so that he can recover in time for pre-season.

With Liverpool not in contention for any of the trophies and not in the race for the Top 4 in the Premier League either, it seems to be a sensible move from the Merseyside club to ensure that their talisman does not miss out any part of next season.

With Gerrard coming to the end of his long and illustrious career, one can only hope that this shoulder problem does not bring it to an end sooner than desired.
