Alvaro Morata has revealed a desire to join Arsenal this summer and claims he would accept any overtures that the Gunners would have should a fee be agreed with Real Madrid for his signature, according to reports.

Arsenal were keen on landing the Spain Under-21 international during the January transfer window, with manager Arsene Wenger attempting a loan move to help support Olivier Giroud.

Now it is believed that Morata has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a proposed move in the summer and will put pen to paper on a switch to North London as soon as the Gunners have thrashed out a transfer fee with Real.

Morata was believed to be set to make a significant first team impact this season following the sale of Gonzalo Higuain and subsequent failure to replace him, but the youngster has still found his route onto the pitch blocked off.

Karim Benzema has done enough to remain the number one striker supporting the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, while the sudden emergence of Jese Rodriguez has left the young Spaniard further down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu.

With rumours abound that Real are set to launch a big-money bid for a top name striker in the summer, with the likes of Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani linked, Morata is eyeing the exit in order to get the game time that he needs to develop his potential.

Arsenal have a reputation for allowing younger players to receive regular first-team football and with Mesut Ozil already there after his spell with Morata at Real and a number of Spanish speaking players, he feels that Arsenal could be the perfect place to truly kick-start his professional career.

It is believed that Real would demand a buy-back clause in any dealings with the Gunners, while a percentage of any future sale could be an integral clause in the transfer.

Alvaro Morata scores an impressive 1.14 goals per 90 minutes he has played for Real Madrid this season. Olivier Giroud scores 0.50 goals per 90 for Arsenal.
