According to the Guardian, Manchester United hitman Robin Van Persie is rumoured to be disgruntled with life at the club, and will consider his options in the summer.

The 30-year old was caught unawares when Sir Alex Ferguson, who one of the sole reasons he moved to the club from Arsenal, decided to call it a day. Evidently, Persie has never seemed quite as happy under the new boss David Moyes.

The dreadful Champions League showing against Olympiakos, might have been the last straw. The Dutchman was vocal in his displeasure when he complained that his team-mates were taking up positions he wanted to occupy, which indirectly, also questioned the manager’s tactics.

Although the Red Devils have made it clear, with a record new deal to tie down Wayne Rooney, they will do all they can to hold on to their star players, Robin Van Persie could be a step too far.

The defending champions have already been knocked out of the FA Cup and League Cup, and look increasingly likely to finish out of the top four Champions League spot, which surely would prompt the former Gunner to consider other options.

With no release clause in the striker’s contract, Manchester United could be helpless if Persie decides to leave. Considering the pedigree of the player, clubs will line up to lap the goal scoring machine.

If David Moyes hopes to keep the icon at Old Trafford, results, and a mega deal like Wayne Rooney’s might be essential before the end of the season.
