Steve Bruce targets to keep Hull in the Premier League

Hull Tigers manager Steve Bruce mentioned that his primary target this season is to avoid relegation of the club.

Steve Bruce said: “I want to build something lasting here, a legacy me and this club can be proud of.

“Hull had to wait 104 years before tasting top-flight football and, after finally getting up in 2008, they only lasted a couple of years with the big boys. So we have got to make sure we stay among England’s elite for the next eight to ten years if possible.

“That has got to be the aim and if Wigan can do it for eight years, then why can’t Hull? With a bit of shrewd investment and a chunk of good luck, why not?”

Bruce further added: “Keeping us up will go along with that. The fact is, it’s getting harder for promoted teams to stay in the top flight.

“You only have to look at big clubs like Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Leicester for proof. We have brought in ten players this summer and they are all lads who can help us cope.”

Hull Tigers, previously known as Hull City, got promoted to the Premier League this season.
