Steven Gerrard ‘would consider’ Liverpool job

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has admitted that he would considering managing the club one day if he decided to try his luck at management.

The 33-year-old is nearing the end of his career and will be considering his options for when he finally draws the curtain on a 26-year association with the Reds.

“I’d consider management maybe if I was good enough,” Gerrard told Liverpool’s official website. ”But just because you’ve been a decent player and had a successful career at Liverpool, it doesn’t mean you’re going to turn out to be a top manager.

“But if I was good enough and I ever got the shout to be the Liverpool manager in 10 or 20 years, of course I’d consider it very seriously.”

The Huyton-born star has had a illustrious career with 639 appearances for the club, scoring 161 goals, as well as 107 caps and 21 goals for England.

Gerrard recently netted his 100th Premier League goal for the Reds in a 2-2 draw against Newcastle, firing past Tim Krul from the penalty spot.
